The visit of State Secretary of the Ministry of Education to Primary school Velka Ida
On Friday January 24th Ing. (M. Eng.) Štefan Chudoba, PhD., State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak republic, visited the Primary school Veľká Ida. Secretary Chudoba was accompanied by representatives from the Department of Schools for Teaching the Languages of National Minorities and Roma Communities, including the head of the department, Mgr. (Master) Ján Jaraba.
State Secretary Chudoba was interested in the cooperation of Primary schol Veľká Ida and ETP Slovakia. He primarily encouraged the educating of children using the Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment methodology, which helps develop innate cognitive potential and the communication skills of children, which in turn contributes to the overall improvement in their school performance.
Later, representatives of the of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic stopped for a few moments at a zero grade classroom – where children involved in the project Let’s Learn How to Learn are educated using the FIE methodology – to see how the method works in actual practice. Soon after entering the classroom, State Secretary, Mr. Ing. Stephen Poverty, PhD. sat on the bench next to some children and when he saw how much all the children know and how promptly they react, he praised them for their ability.
