Sharing the ETP Experience in Prague
Research Day was an event taking place at the Marianeum Training Centre in Prague, where fifty participants learned about ETP’s experience
with the application of the Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) Method in marginalized Roma communities. The event was organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague and Centrum ROZUM (Centre for the Development of Learning and Thinking), with the support of The Velux Foundations and the Swiss- Slovak Cooperation Program.
The presentation on the application of the Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment within the project Let´s Learn How to Learn was given by the Director of ETP Slávka Mačáková, the ETP Education Coordinator Lenka Orságová, a Remedial Teacher Mária Heveriová and Natália Pilipčuková, the Teacher of the FIE Club at the Primary School in Veľká Ida.
Professor Alex Kozulin of the Feuerstein Institute in Jerusalem spoke about the application of the FIE method in other countries as well as on the contribution of the LPAD testing (measuring one´s learning potential) performed by specialists from Jerusalem, who had tested the little students of the FIE After-School Clubs in Veľká Ida and Košice-Šaca. A lecture was also given by Eva Váňová from the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague, who works with the Method as both an instructor and a researcher. Eva Váňová also trained the ETP community workers in the Feuerstein Method.
