RARE – Roma minority and job market – mapping shortcomings and barriers

„Roma do not work and will never work“ is the most widespread stereotype in conversations between people from different regions and different areas of life. What people often do not realize is that there is wide discrimination and prejudice in the labor market against Roma people. For example, in some cases, there is no bus connection from a segregated settlement to a nearby town, where there are job offers. Despite many difficulties, however, many Roma seek employment opportunities and they gladly accept a helping hand from various (non-profit) institutions, who face obstacles and created a room for integration.
