  • Press Release for the Civil Society Prize

    The gold Civil Society Prize of the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels (EESC) was awarded yesterday to ETP Slovakia – Centre for Sustainable Development.

    The prize is €15 000.  Two silver prizes were awarded to the Czech organization IQ Roma servis and to the Reverend Archimandrite Athinagoras Loukataris from Greece, both of them receiving 7 500 €.

  • ETP Slovakia is one of the 8 candidates for the Civil Society Prize

    Since 2006 the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC)  has been awarding  the Civil Society Prize that rewards and supports initiatives of organizations and/or individuals who contribute significantly to the promotion of European identity and integration that operates at local, regional, national or European level.

    ETP Slovakia was chosen as one of the 8 finalists of whom three will be awarded with the prize money totaling 30,000 euros. The winners will be awarded on Oct. 16, 2014 in Brussels.

  • During the day, football and live music in the settlement; in the evening, theater and fashion show

    On Thursday, August 28th, together with Michal Kaščák, Matúš Vallo, Lydka Šuchová, Sendreiovci and the other musicians from Para and Slobodná Európa, we went to the settlement on Budulovská street. After the festival Moldava Together 2014 was banned, we decided to visit people from settlement and spend the day together – by playing football, listening to and making good music and enjoying the really good weather.

  • Children Transferred Happenings from Daily Life in the Settlement onto the Stage

    Talented children and youth from the marginalized Roma settlement Budulovská in Moldava nad Bodvou, who regularly attend the community center, once again showed that trough the art they can express what can only hardly be described by words – that their everyday reality is full of joy and sadness, that they often have to face discrimination in various forms but also that the stage is for them a space where they can freely express their personality.

  • American Actors Help Roma Children and Youth Boost Their Creativity

    On Saturday, July 5th, 2014, three artists from the Dramatic Adventure Theatre (DAT) in New York, the USA arrived to Košice to deliver interactive art workshops to children and youth from the marginalized Roma settlement Budulovská in Moldava nad Bodvou.

    It was three years ago, when for the first time, actors from DAT visited Eastern Slovakia and delivered their first interactive art workshop to children and young people from marginalized Roma communities.

  • Through making Art We made New Friends

    Thursday, June 26th, 1:30 pm. The doors to room A in Kasárne–Kulturpark are slowly closing, a signal to participants that the performance is about to begin. Our colleague, Lucia Hrubá, who has planned this whole day for the children involved in the project Art4Rom, welcomes guests and start with a video greetings from children  from the community center in Rudňany who had hoped to participate in the performance, but due to jaundice had an enlarged livers and could not leave the settlement. The video greeting is sincere and full of hope that we will all meet at similar event in the future. Lucia invites onto the stage Danka Pustulkovú, leading the CC Rudňany.

  • Music4Rom: Partnership Meeting in Tapovan

    From May 27 to 30, 2014 partners of the Music4Rom Project met in Tapovan Centre in Normandy, France. Music4Rom is a new international art project aiming to promote Roma values to build intercultural bridges, social inclusion and educate children in European citizenship through music. The project partners are International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation (Belgium), ETP Slovakia, MUS-e Napoli (Italy), Union Romani (Spain), The Mosaic Art and Sound Ltd (United Kingdom), Activ Art (Romania), European Roma Information Office (Belgium) and Sons Croises (France).
